Kim Hutchings
Owner
Affordable elegance in Northern Virginia is not an oxymoron, and Misguided Angels boutique in historic downtown Leesburg VA sets out to prove just that! Owner Kim Hutchings strives to find women's clothing, shoes, handbags, and accessories from up-and-coming designers that are fun and fabulous, and that won't break the bank. These unique finds will keep your weekend-wear wardrobe fresh and exciting! If you want ordinary, this is not the store for you!
History
Kim has had the passion for fashion since she was a child playing with Barbies®. She had a dream of opening a women's boutique since she was a teenager, which led to her obtaining a degree in fashion merchandising. The business was opened in 2010 and is built upon her extensive experience in the retail industry, which includes more than 20 years of experience in various positions from store manager to wearing multiple hats in the corporate office for a national retail chain. Since 2010 Misguided Angels has won numerous accolades, including Best Boutique in Northern Virginia and Best Boutique in Loudoun County for the last 5 years straight!
The Name
The meaning of the name "Misguided Angels" is two-fold. Primarily, it as a tribute to Kim's days working for Victoria's Secret where she met her former business partner, Carol White. As managers for Victoria's Secret, Kim and Carol referred to themselves as the "Bad-a$$ Angels", a play on the name of the Victoria's Secret Angels™. "Misguided Angel" is also the name of the first song that Kim and her husband danced to at their wedding.
Fashion Obsession
Kim is excited to share her fashion obsession. Says Kim: "I think there is a little something that appeals to everyone. I am so excited, and hope to provide not just unique women's apparel, but a unique and fun shopping experience as well."
